It is now mandatory to provide a photo ID when ordering ammonium nitrate (AN) fertiliser - without it, your sale will be declined and you may be reported to the police

Farmers purchasing AN fertiliser containing 16% nitrogen and above must prove their identity with photo ID - e.g driving licence, passport, gun licence. Vendors must keep a record for Police inspection.

Any compounds fertilisers containing 16% nitrogen and derived from AN - which includes N from calcium ammonium (CAN) - will also require photo ID.
